Functional naturopathy focuses on the client rather than the disease. This is a personalized method of optimizing YOUR health based on YOUR individual genetics, YOUR lifestyle, etc. There is no meal plan or generic documentation because everyone is different!
A complete diet, rich in fruits and vegetables and little processed, is always a good basis. However, some clients need more targeted interventions with specific foods in order to target the underlying causes of their imbalances to optimize their health.
The functional approach honors the fact that food is not only fuel for YOUR body, but also an extremely useful tool in helping you regain balance. It’s much more than food.
While Functional Naturopathy honors the powerful nature of healthy eating, it also respects the fact that health isn't just about what you eat. For example, your stress level, your sleeping habits and your environment in general also influence your health. Not only do these factors play a huge role in your overall health, they also have a two-way effect on your food habits.
